These are not part of my personal routine but are well researched and commonly recommended for women over 50:
Probiotics
Gut health becomes increasingly important as we age. A quality probiotic supports digestive health, immune function, and even mood. Look for one with multiple strains and a high CFU count.
B12
B12 absorption decreases with age and vegetarians and pescatarians are at higher risk of deficiency. Low B12 can cause fatigue, brain fog, and mood changes – symptoms that are easy to miss or attribute to something else.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Not all supplements are created equal. Look for brands that are third party tested, have clean ingredient lists, and are transparent about sourcing. More expensive does not always mean better but suspiciously cheap supplements are often a red flag.
