So you bought a Peloton. Welcome to the club – I’ve been a member for over seven years and still use the Peloton content every day!

I have had my Peloton since 2019 and it has genuinely changed how I approach staying fit and cross training. But here is what nobody tells you when you buy the bike: the bike itself is just the beginning. The best Peloton accessories make the difference between a workout you dread and one you actually look forward to.
These are the accessories I recommend based on real experience, plus a few others that come highly rated from the Peloton community.

Cycling Shoes
Kyedoo Cycling Shoes
Cycling shoes are not optional if you want to get the most out of your Peloton. Clipping in gives you power through the entire pedal stroke instead of just the push down, which means a better workout with less effort. I ride in Kyedoo shoes and they deliver everything you need – a solid clip, comfortable fit, and a price point that makes sense for a home bike setup.
Look for: Shoes compatible with the LOOK Delta cleats that come with the Peloton

Fan
TruBlifit High Velocity Fan
This is the accessory I tell every new Peloton owner to buy immediately. You will sweat more on a stationary bike than you expect because there is no wind resistance cooling you down like outdoor cycling. A good fan positioned directly in front of you changes everything. The TruBlifit delivers serious airflow without being so loud it drowns out your instructor.
This fan requires no batteries and no charging – just plug it in to your Peloton screen and turn it on!
Look for: A fan with multiple speed settings that doesn’t take up a lot of room on your handlebars.

Bike Mat
CycleClub Exercise Equipment Mat
A good mat under your Peloton protects your floor, reduces vibration, and keeps the bike from sliding during intense rides. It also collect the sweat, but that’s another conversation…
The CycleClub From mat is thick, durable, and sized well for a Peloton footprint, which is about 2 feet by 4 feet. An easy and affordable upgrade that your floors will thank you for.
Look for: A mat at least 1/4 inch thick with a non-slip bottom

Padded Cycling Shorts
Pearl Izumi Women’s Quest Cycling Short
If you are new to cycling you are going to notice the seat. Lots of Peloton newbies have issues getting accustomed to the seat. A good pair of padded cycling shorts makes a significant difference in comfort, especially on longer rides. Pearl Izumi makes quality cycling gear and the Quest short has enough padding to make a 45-minute ride comfortable without feeling like you are sitting on a pillow.
Look for: A chamois pad that is centered and shaped for women, with a non-slip leg gripper

Hand Weights
Yes4All Neoprene Dumbbells
Peloton strength rides use light hand weights, and having a set right on your bike makes it easy to grab them without breaking your flow. A pair of 1-3 lb weights is all you need. The Yes4All neoprene dumbbells are comfortable to grip, easy to store, and affordable enough to buy two sets in different weights.
You might be motivated to go heavier than three pounds. It’s really not necessary. You’ll get plenty of resistance from these lighter weights.
Look for: Neoprene coated weights with a comfortable grip in 1-3 lb range

Water Bottle
CamelBak Podium Water Bottle
The CamelBak Podium is a favorite in the cycling world for good reason. The self-sealing jet valve lets you drink quickly without spilling, which is exactly what you need when you are mid-ride and do not want to break your momentum. It fits perfectly in the Peloton bottle holder and is easy to clean. Simple, reliable, and built for exactly this kind of workout.
Look for: The 21 oz or 24 oz size for the best fit in the Peloton cup holder

Sweat Towels
Microfiber Gym Towel Set
You are going to sweat on your Peloton. A lot. Having a dedicated towel within reach makes every ride more comfortable and keeps your equipment clean. The Xoofewal set comes with three 14 x 29 inch microfiber towels that absorb moisture faster than cotton and dry quickly so they are ready for your next ride. They are machine washable and hold up really well after repeated washes without losing their softness. The three pack is a smart buy — keep one on the bike, one in the wash, and one as a backup.
Look for: A microfiber towel that is soft enough for your face but durable enough to wash repeatedly

The Bottom Line
Setting up your Peloton space with the right accessories does not have to happen all at once. If I were starting fresh I would prioritize cycling shoes and a fan above everything else — those two things will immediately improve every single ride. Add the mat, towels, and water bottle next, and pick up the padded shorts and weights when you are ready to take your rides to the next level. Your Peloton is a serious investment and the right gear makes every ride more comfortable, more effective, and a lot more fun.
